FLYEAT

We Didn’t Want to Open Another Restaurant.

So We Created a Destination.

When the

founders started thinking about opening a restaurant, the first question wasn’t:

“What food should we sell?”

It was:

“Why should anyone choose us?”

Because the market was already crowded.

There were restaurants everywhere.

Vegetarian restaurants.

Fast-food outlets.

Family restaurants.

Star hotels.

Local restaurants.

Everywhere we looked, someone was already

selling food.

We didn’t want to become another restaurant

fighting for the same customer.

So we stopped looking at the

restaurant market…

and started looking for an uncontested

opportunity.

FIRST, WE LOOKED AT WHAT WE ALREADY HAD.

Our biggest strength was not the kitchen.

It was space.

A large location near the highway.

That meant we weren’t limited to being just another neigh bour hood restaurant.

People were already travelling past us.

The question became:

“What would make them want to stop?”

THEN WE LOOKED FOR THE PEOPLE

OTHERS WERE NOT DESIGNING FOR.

We explored an uncontested opportunity

among people who valued:

Authentic traditional food.

Natural and organic choices.

Variety.

Experience.

Discovery.

But understanding the customer required more than knowing what they wanted.

We needed to understand what frustrated them about existing restaurants.

THE RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE HAD

TOO MANY PAIN POINTS.

Customers told us about:

Unusual food.

Poor cleanliness.

Rough service.

Unhealthy choices.

Slow delivery.

Nothing interesting to experience.

Feeling disrespected.

Long waiting times.

Limited quantity.

So we asked:

“What if a restaurant could remove these frustrations

and create something people actually want to experience?”

That became the beginning of FlyEat.

WE DIDN’T DESIGN A RESTAURANT.

WE DESIGNED AN EXPERIENCE.

And we started with the senses.

SEE

A separate, neat and clean environment.

Authentic food presentation.

A feeling of freedom.

And then the biggest visual difference:

A FLIGHT THEME.

Suddenly, the restaurant had an identity.

It didn’t look like every other restaurant.

SMELL

Instead of hiding food preparation behind the kitchen…

we made

the preparation part of the experience.

The aroma of freshly prepared food became part of the restaurant.

You don’t just see the food.

You smell it being created.

TOUCH

We introduced self-selection.

Customers could participate in choosing what they wanted.

The experience became more personal.

Not “What do you serve?”

But:

“What do YOU want?”

TASTE

We

focused on variety.

Multiple

choices.

Different

preferences.

Different

appetites.

The

customer wasn’t trapped into one fixed experience.

Choice

became part of the product.

HEAR

Live music added another dimension.

Now the restaurant wasn’t simply a place

to eat.

It became a place to stay.

THEN WE ADDED ANOTHER SURPRISE.

ROBOTIC SERVICE.

The robot wasn’t just technology for

technology’s sake.

It created:

Curiosity.

Entertainment.

Conversation.

Memorability.

Children loved it.

Families talked about it.

Visitors remembered it.

The technology became part of the experience.

THEN CAME THE BRAND FLIP.

We weren’t trying to position FlyEat as:

“Another restaurant with good food.”

That would immediately put us into comparison.

Instead, we created a different identity:

CHOOSY.

HEALTHY.

The meaning became:

QUALITY FOOD + FREEDOM OF CHOICE + EXPERIENCE.

And the values were built around:

DELIGHT.

CUSTOMIZATION.

PERSONALIZATION.

AUTHENTICITY.

THEN WE CREATED THE

TRIBE.

We didn’t try to attract everybody.

We focused on people who would appreciate the experience:

TRADITIONAL FOOD LOVERS.

FOOD ADDICTS.

People who don’t just

want something to eat…

but want something worth experiencing.

That is why the restaurant became:

FLYEAT

A FLIGHT-THEMED RESTAURANT.

With:

Separate vegetarian entry.

Separate non-vegetarian entry.

Buffet experience.

Multiple varieties.

Live preparation.

Live music.

Robotic service.

And most importantly:

A reason to stop.

THE BIGGER IDEA

The founders started with:

“We don’t want to compete with existing restaurants.”

That constraint became the strategy.

Instead of competing on:

Price.

Food quantity.

Menu size.

Location.

Advertising.

We competed on something else:

EXPERIENCE.

The highway location brought the traffic.

The flight theme created curiosity.

The sensory experience created delight.

The variety created choice.

The personalization created connection.

And the tribe created word of mouth.

WHAT WE LEARNED

SENSORY DESIGN WINS.

When customers can see, smell, touch, taste and hear the experience, the product becomes more memorable.

FUNCTIONAL → EMOTIONAL CREATES SPEED.

People may need food.

But they remember an experience.

FIXING CUSTOMER PAIN POINTS OPENS NEW MARKETS.

Every frustration is potentially an opportunity.

ADOPTING CURRENT TRENDS CAN OPEN NEW MARKETS.

Technology, experience and changing customer expectations can create new reasons to choose.

And perhaps the biggest lesson:

DON’T ASK HOW TO BEAT THE RESTAURANTS.

Ask:

“HOW CAN WE CREATE A RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE

THAT PEOPLE CANNOT COMPARE WITH THEM?”

FLYEAT

Don’t just eat.

Experience the flight.
